A NEW restaurant is promising to bring a taste of Mexico to Henley. Pachangas will open at the former Beer Tree pub on the corner of Duke Street and Greys Road next month.
Manager Carlos Tovar said the restaurant would have a chef from Mexico cooking familiar dishes such as fajitas as well as traditional cuisine such as chicken mole.
“I’m sure the people of Henley will be happy to have something different,” he said. “It’s going to have warm colours and when you come through the door it will make you feel like you’re on holiday because we’ll have Latin American music — you’ll be in little Mexico in Henley.”
The premises, which are owned by pub company Brakspear, have had a troubled history in recent years as the business went through a number of different guises.
For this change, the toilets are being refurbished, the bar made smaller and a new kitchen installed.
