Pub post office idea

A VACANT village pub could have a post office or become a residential development.

The Four Horseshoes in Checkendon closed in October having had a number of tenants in recent years.

Now Brakspear, which owns the pub, says it is considering a number of options for the site, including homes.

Chief executive Tom Davies said: “We can’t seem to make this one work and it’s not doing anyone any good sitting there at the moment.” The company has spoken to Bal Budesha, who runs the village shop and post office in Whitehall Lane.

Mr Davies said: “One of the options is looking at the possibility of incorporating a post office there.
