Superfast broadband on way with £2m injection

SUPERFAST broadband is to be made available to 95 per cent of homes and businesses in South Oxfordshire.

The district council has agreed to put £1 million towards the installation currently being carried out by BT as part of Better Broadband for Oxfordshire.

This sum will be match-funded by the Government’s Broadband Delivery UK.

At the moment, only 53 per cent of properties in South Oxfordshire are able to receive superfast broadband.

Better Broadband for Oxfordshire was launched in August and is a £25 million programme designed to ensure that at least 90 per cent of the county will have access to broadband speeds of at least 24 megabits per second by the end of next year.
