Ex-racing driver takes pole at motorhomes hire firm
A FORMER racing driver has taken over as manager of Henley Motorhome Hire.
Jacky Hayward-Wittwer, 57, from Burchetts Green, has 28 years’ experience of car rentals.
She was born in Switzerland and moved to the UK in 1972. She raced touring cars for BMW in the Seventies and worked for the Lotus Formula 1 team before joining car rental company Budget.
After nine years, she moved to Alamo, now owned by Enterprise, where she was operations director for 19 years, working in Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.Ms Hayward-Wittwer, who lives with her partner Rhodri Williams, 67, a retired naval officer, ran the Crown pub in Burchett’s Green for three years before taking over from Charlie Barklem at Henley Motorhome Hire in Lambridge Lane this month.
She said: “I left car rentals to run the pub but it didn’t work out and I ended up being at a loose end.
