Pre-schoolers don their hard hats

Pre-school children from Henley donned their hard hats and high-visibility jackets last Friday (9) for a tour round Jewsons.

A total of 15 children from Badgemore Pre-school in Hop Gardens visited the store in Reading Road to learn about the building trade.

They were shown around the shop and warehouse by branch manager Jonathan Jarman before driver Dennis Pearce gave them a demonstration of the crane on his 14-tonne truck.

Each child was given a hard hat and toy truck as a souvenir from the visit, which was arranged by Mr Pearce’s wife Sally, who works at the pre-school.

Mr Jarman said: “We were told the kids were dead excited and. Here at Jewsons we are always trying to do things with the community and get youngsters involved.
