Pitch the price right and sit tight if you want to sell home

A LEADING Henley estate agent is warning homeowners to price competitively and be patient if they want to sell their homes.

Stephen Christie-Miller, head of Savills Henley sales, says the market has changed for a number of reasons, and there are now lots of homes on the market in the Henley area, making it a buyers’ market.

He said: “The property market in Henley and its surrounding villages has changed dramatically in a relatively short period of time.

“Contrary to a few months ago — where there was a significant lack of quality houses across all price ranges — the market in the last six to eight weeks has been very well supplied with new instructions from vendors believing that 2014 is the year to sell.

“Information released from our research department at the beginning of the year indicated that this year would see an increase of purchasers, capitalising on the value of their London homes and once more looking to move to the country.Whilst it is indisputable that this is happening, it is taking far longer than anyone anticipated.
