Businesswoman quits to curry favour

A HENLEY woman has quit the corporate world for a new career selling curries.

Samantha Thirlby-Smith became business development manager for the Authentic Nepalese Curry Tent in January.

The venture is staffed by former Gurkhas and serves traditional Nepalese food at festivals and private functions.

It operates from a 144 sq ft army tent that contains a fully-functioning kitchen and employs 20 chefs aged from 31 to 72.

A portion of the proceeds goes to the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
