Crowdfunding bid for film debut

A BUDDING young director from Shiplake is hoping to raise £37,500 to make his first full-length film.

Will McDowell, 21, wrote the script for his 90-minute comic drama Never Better while studying at university.

He has lined up a cast of former school friends and is now looking for investors to bring his idea to life.

The film follows a group of artists and art students trying to forge careers in London.

Gail Rosier, artistic director of Henley’s Acorn Music Theatre Company, has agreed to appear in it, if it is made.
