Shopper wins £5,000 in vouchers

A REGULAR shopper at Waitrose in Henley has won £5,000 worth of vouchers to spend at the store.

Bob Clements, 66, won a national prize draw which the supermarket chain holds every month. He was automatically entered as he holds one of the company’s loyalty cards.

Mr Clements, from Stonor, is the first Henley shopper to win the contest since it was launched in 2011. He moved to the area with his wife Janet, who passed away after an illness last Christmas, in 1974.

Mr Clements was presented with a cake, bouquet and a glass of champagne when he collected his prize.

He said: “I was very pleased to win as £5,000 is a useful sum of money — it’s certainly not an offer you’d turn down.”
