A HENLEY technology company has won an award for an app which speeds up networking at business conferences.
AroundThen was founded in May by Ken Mawbey, 50, of Western Avenue.
Its app uses the LinkedIn website and allows people to see the profiles of others at the same event, making it easy to identify and connect with them. It has a range of 30 feet.
Mr Mawbey said: “The app aims to make networking easier and allows you to view and connect with other people based on proximity.
“It uses a new form of Bluetooth called Bluetooth low energy. A lot of networking apps use GPS which drains the battery and doesn’t work inside. Bluetooth low energy doesn’t do that.
