A PUB in Middle Assendon has won an award for its gardens.
The Rainbow Inn, which dates back to the 17th century, won the annual garden competition run by pub company Brakspear.
Landlords Graham “Curly” Chandler and his wife Jean, who have spent 20 years at the pub, won a £1,000 prize.
The pub has a cottage-style garden at the front and back with views over the Stonor Valley.
Mrs Chandler said: “We’re delighted to have won. Creating and maintaining the gardens is truly a labour of love, so it’s lucky that we love gardening.
