THE Office of Fair Trading is investigating the £47.3million deal in which the Regal cinema in Henley was taken over.

The cinema was one of 21 in the Picturehouse group which was bought by the Cineworld chain in December.

The OFT says it is examining whether the deal could lead to a substantial lessening of competition in some areas, resulting in higher charges or lower quality for cinema-goers.
