Fund-raising drive

PREMIUM UK and international residential estate agency Hamptons International has announced an official corporate partnership with the country’s leading cancer

PREMIUM UK and international residential estate agency Hamptons International has announced an official corporate partnership with the country’s leading cancer charity, Cancer Research UK. As part of the partnership Hamptons International, which has a branch in Henley’s Hart Street, is hoping to raise £100,000 for the charity by the end of 2013.

Staff at Hamptons International will partake in various fund-raising events throughout the year, such as Race for Life, night-time walking marathon Shine and a company-wide ‘Bake Off’. Employees will also be encouraged to spearhead their own local fund-raising initiatives to raise awareness and help reach the overall target. Whilst leading local campaigns, charity ambassadors throughout Hamptons International will be taken on tours of Cancer Research UK’s laboratories so that they can gain a sense of the scientific research that underpins the organisation.

Marc Goldberg, head of sales at Hamptons International says: “Cancer Research UK is a charity which is already very close to our hearts. With one in three people affected by cancer during their lifetime it will be no surprise to hear that as a business we have many staff members that have been touched by the disease in one way or another. It is those individuals we have lost, those who are fighting the disease and all that have beaten it who have inspired us to partner up with Cancer Research UK and join in the fight to beat cancer for good.

“We are looking forward to the year ahead and are dedicated to reaching our £100,000 fund-raising target.”

With 28 Hamptons International branches across the country located within a five-minute walk of a Cancer Research UK charity shop, the links with the charity are synonymous. Staff will be dedicating their time throughout the year to help in their local Cancer Research UK shop.

Staff will also encourage vendors, landlords and applicants to de-clutter their homes before moving and donate items to a Cancer Research UK shop.

Caroline Silke, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Cancer Research UK says: “We’re thrilled to be working with Hamptons International this year. Through the partnership, we hope to raise a huge amount of money for our pioneering research into cancer, bringing forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
