Shop competition raises £50 for charity

A JEWELLERY shop in Henley has announced the winners of its Mother’s Day prize draw.

A JEWELLERY shop in Henley has announced the winners of its Mother’s Day prize draw.

Mayor Elizabeth Hodgkin picked the two names from a box at Precious Love in Hart Street on Friday.

Geoff Hassett, from Lower Basildon, claimed the top prize of a meal for four at Hotel du Vin in New Street. Claire Oliver, from Benson, won the runners-up prize of an aromatherapy session at Kubu Spa in Bell Street.

More than 50 people entered the competition and the shop donated £1 for each entry to head injury charity Headway. Precious Love owner Tom Bulgarelli said: “We’re very keen on supporting other Henley businesses and try to work with them as often as possible.

“These are the kind of prizes you’d really want to give on Mother’s Day rather than the usual flowers and a cup of tea in bed.”
