All aboard for a trip to Wargrave

FOR the second year running, Hobbs of Henley, Val Wyatt Marine and Bushnell Marine Services invite you to the Henley

FOR the second year running, Hobbs of Henley, Val Wyatt Marine and Bushnell Marine Services invite you to the Henley and Wargrave Boat Show, writes Jacky Hayler. The show is a joint venture between the three companies designed to offer you the opportunity to see various craft and experience boating life.

The show offers the opportunity to view a large range of new and used craft for sale and hire, but it is also a great day out to get a new view of the River Thames, and explore the world of boating.

As a result, the Standard this week focuses its house-hunt on the picturesque village of Wargrave.

As well as a variety of shops, a library, public houses and restaurants, the village boasts an interesting history dating back to the Domesday survey of 1086.

The peaceful and idyllic appearance of the village belies a thriving community with a variety of local clubs and activities. These include a rowing club, lawn tennis club, cricket club, dance school, two golf courses and a state-of-the-art health club.

There is also an annual rowing regatta which dates back to 1867 and a biennial village festival and the village offers excellent transport links.
