Alert tenants snap up charming Sleepy home

LAST year this charming three-bedroom cottage was rented out on the first day of marketing, leaving many other interested parties disappointed. The property had been featured in the film Goodnight Mister Tom.

As the 12-month rental agreement came to an end it was back on Jackson Residential’s listing and again it took just 24 hours for a tenant to be found.

Sleepy Cottage is in the picturesque village of Turville Heath in the Hambleden Valley with stunning views and is in walking distance of the Bull and Butcher pub and the windmill that featured in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The cottage has a separate garden across the lane and carport parking.

Accommodation includes a living room with dining area, kitchen, master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom and single bedroom with family bathroom.

There are also two wood-burning stoves in the property.

Letting director Charlotte Mellor said: “The demand for these characterful little houses in sought-after hamlets is still very much there. We thought it would be snapped up quickly again but even we were amazed by how quickly it went.

“If you want something of this nature you really have to be on the ball.”
