House witnessed a big movie moment

THE book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has long been a firm favourite among the fans of author Ian Fleming but the use of locations around Henley for the iconic 1968 film has made it very popular with locals.

Few could forget the moment that Truly Scrumptious, played by Sally Ann Howes, was run off the road into a duck pond by Caractacus Potts. Such import is attached to this particular scene that the duck pond, situated in Russell’s Water, is one of the stops on the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie tour.

The driveway directly opposite the pond, also featured in the film, is the driveway to Kiln Barn, a beautiful property, currently available to let through the Henley office of international real estate adviser, Savills.

Well presented throughout, this spacious family home offers four/five bedrooms, three bathrooms, four reception rooms, maintained gardens and a garage.

Ali Bird of Savills Henley Lettings comments: “This lovely house is ideal for a family or for use as a weekend retreat. Its idyllic location will make it highly desirable for many and we anticipate there will be much interest.”

The property is available unfurnished for £3,650 per month. For more details, call Savills on (01491) 843002.
