Town centre opportunity

TWO luxury homes — part of a development of just six in the heart of Henley — provide a rare opportunity to be in the centre of things.

Peers and Hilton are marketing the two properties which have recently been redeveloped from offices. Once the headquarters of Henley-based export company Houdret & Co and then home to Spanish property agents, the building has been meticulously converted to provide all the character of the original fabric of the building while offering a contemporary lifestyle.

Paul Springett of Springwood Developments is the man behind the project. He is well known in the area already for his conversion of the old police station in Henley and used a tried and tested formula which works well.

He said: “The building was in quite a state of disrepair when we acquired it. We re-built a section of it, using some of the old timber beams and trusses to maintain its integrity and we are very pleased with the results.

“The location really is key to the development — you really can’t get more central with everything on your doorstep.”

The development consists of two houses over two floors and four dwellings over three floors. They boast small private patio gardens at the rear so would be ideal for busy professionals or people downsizing who do not want too much outside space to maintain.

Internally, fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. There is underfloor heating throughout with engineered oak flooring and oak staircases featuring glass balustrading.

The kitchen has granite surfaces while the bathrooms feature Duravit sanitaryware and Hansgrohe fittings. The secure development boasts an audio entry phone system and remote-controlled electrically operated gates as well as intruder alarms, security lighting and secure off-street parking. Paul said: “I knew what I wanted to achieve but the end result is even better than I had hoped.

“The views from the third floor across the rooftops of Henley with glimpses of Park Place are just lovely. I have thoroughly enjoyed this project.”

The three-bedroom home is on the market for a guide price of £550,000 while the two-bedroom property is available for £399,950.
