Dressing Henley’s windows

A PROJECT providing window dressing training for independent shops has been launched by Henley’s town centre manager.

A PROJECT providing window dressing training for independent shops has been launched by Henley’s town centre manager.

Peter McConnell has joined with retail training experts Metamorphosis Group to offer Dressed for Success — free one-to-one training designed to help boost trade.

Up to 10 Henley retailers can receive free training if they are members of the Henley Partnership, or at the cost of £25 for non-members (which will include membership). Training will take place on selected days in October on a bespoke basis at each retailer’s premises.

Participants will be asked to enter the annual Christmas window dressing competition, which is run in conjunction with Delegate Services, and will be judged by members of the public in December. An awards ceremony which recognises and rewards Henley’s retailers will take place the following month.

Mr McConnell said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for retailers in the town to improve their skills. There is a direct correlation between good shop window displays and footfall into shops so I’m expecting a great uptake for this free training.”
