FLEMINGS café sells coffee, sandwiches, soup and cakes to take away or consume on the premises.

Ms Fleming said: “The village is really responding well to the business. Everyone seems to be pleased they have somewhere to get a cup of coffee or a sandwich.

“Sonning Common has a real community feel so it responds to anything that helps provide a central heart of the village. We’re enjoying getting to know everyone.”

Ms Fleming moved to the village four years ago after running a beauty business in Nottingham.

She said: “I’ve always thought this place would make a really great café and central point for the community with a bit of love, care and hard work.”

Ms Fleming said everything inside the caféwas brand new including the seats which were meant to encourage people to stay and enjoy their coffee.

The café has been awarded four stars by the Food Standards Agency.
