A GROUP of music apps designed by a Henley businessman have gone to the top of the charts.

Five of the SessionBand apps created by Paul Sissons featured in the top 13 of the UK music app charts on October 8 and were in the top 20 in 45 countries.

It followed the release of the latest software, called Jazz Volume 2, which includes new genres such as jazz funk and rock.

Mr Sissons, a married father-of-three who lives in Meadow Road, said: “I’m just amazed. I thought the new app might be popular but it’s gone a bit mental.

“I doubt anyone has ever done that before because most of the brands have only got one app in each section.”

The original smartphone software, which was launched in December last year, was the first to use a chord-based loop and has had spin-offs in the jazz, acoustic and piano genres.

They feature professional musicians who have worked with top recording artists including Robbie Williams, Paul McCartney and Elton John.

New apps for rock, blues and country, as well as a third jazz installment, will be released shortly.
