A BUSINESS networking group for women has been launched in Wargrave.

About 40 women attended the first meeting of the local branch of the Athena Network at Hennerton Golf Club.

The organisation, which was set up eight years ago, encourages female executives and entrepreneurs to meet up and share ideas and has groups across the country.

Regional director Karen Fowler said: “Wargrave is just a stone’s throw from Twyford and centrally located between Bracknell, Henley, Maidenhead, Reading and Wokingham.

“This new group will enhance our already strong presence in the area and is aimed at helping local businesswomen who are looking to support each other in developing strategic links.”

The keynote speaker was Lynne Copp, managing director of the Worklife Company.
