THE Quince Tree in Stonor epitomises Alison Hussey’s vision.

It buys produce for its pub, café and shop locally and employs more than 50 people from the area.

Business co-ordinator Amy Yardley said: “We use local where possible. Most of our fruit and vegetables are from Bix and our meat and game is sourced locally from farms. It’s something we strongly believe in and is what the customers like. There’s an abundance of quality suppliers in this area.

“It can make things a little more expensive but our ethos is we focus on the quality first and foremost.” Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery in Hambleden and Fawley Vineyard are the main drinks suppliers, while pork sausages are sourced from the Black Pig in Watlington. Lacey’s Family Farm in Lane End is the dairy supplier and Gorvett & Stone, in Duke Street, Henley, provides chocolates.
