Awards double for village marina business

A MARINA business in Wargrave was honoured twice at an awards ceremony.

A MARINA business in Wargrave was honoured twice at an awards ceremony.

Val Wyatt Marine, in Willow Lane, collected the award for the best wheelhouse and cockpit cruiser at the Motor Boat Awards in London.

The award was for the Dutch-built Intercruiser 29, which the company sells.

The business was also highly commended in the starter boats category for its Interboat NEO 7.0. Both boats were tested on the water by a judging panel made up of journalists.

Managing director Lisa Caddick said: “We are delighted to receive these awards and the recognition for this fantastic range of boats. We have represented the Interboat range in the UK over the past seven years and they have fast become a must-have on the River Thames.”

Val Wyatt was founded in 1845 and has been owned by Mrs Caddick’s family for 40 years. Her father bought the business in 1977 and, after beginning her career as a chartered accountant, she took over with husband Ben.

The company now sells a range of new and used boats as well as co-organising the annual Henley & Wargrave Boat Show.
