REVIEW websites such as Trip Advisor and Which? have resulted in online reviews becoming an important part of making all types of buying decisions, and not just for white goods such as dishwashers.
Even those choosing an estate agent use them to make a decision on which agency to go with.
According to a recent survey, although the reviews are from complete strangers, 88 per cent of us trust them as much as a personal recommendation.
“The influence of online reviews on consumers’ decisions is huge, and they’re becoming as powerful as word of mouth recommendations for estate agents,” says Peter Loverdos, group operations director at Romans, which has a branch in Henley’s Hart Street.
In light of this, in 2013 Romans enlisted online customer review specialist Feefo to collect valuable feedback on the service provided to customers.
Some of the other companies using Feefo include Charles Tyrwhitt, The White Company, Expedia and Fortnum and Mason.
In just over 12 months, close to 400 customers left independent feedback for Romans via Feefo, with 95 per cent rating the service Good or Excellent.
This resulted in Feefo giving Romans a Gold Trusted Merchant accreditation.
Peter adds: “Our business is about helping people make the right property decisions.
“Being awarded the Gold Trusted Merchant status from Feefo is a great accolade and testament to the focus that our teams have on customer service.”
