Wine merchants Tom Bird and Steph Unwin ran Bertie?s on Friday Street at the bakery at the Hot Gossip coffee house.
Now the couple plan to run the event once a month after the success of the first night. The next one will be on May 3.
Mr Bird said: ?We were busy from 6.30pm all the way through to 11pm.
?About 60 or 70 people came through the door on the night and there were no spare tables and the area around the bar was full.
?Some people came but then had to leave because it was busy. Luckily, they came back. Everyone had a great time and people were positive so next time we will try and make it bigger and better.?
Customers had a choice of 10 red wines, 10 whites, two champagnes and a rose as well as bottled beers from Lovibonds brewery in Market Place.
Mr Bird, who works for import company Wine Source, said: ?We will have to make some changes, such as offer more wines by the glass as people wanted to try lots of different ones.
?There will be some older, more mature wines next time too. We want to give people more of what they want. Lots of people said they would recommend it to friends so next time I imagine we will be even busier.?
Mr Bird and Ms Unwin moved to Henley in September and live in Harpsden Road with Mr Bird?s six-year-old son Cassius.
Mr Bird said how the wine night allowed him and his partner to meet and get to know local wine enthusiasts. He said: ?People have commented on the lack of a wine bar in Henley. Most people who were there were local but some came from further away.?
The wine bar is named after the couple?s border terrier Bertie and was arranged with Hot Gossip owner Lorraine Hillier several months ago.
