ROMANS say they have been overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of entries for their photography competition
ROMANS say they have been overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of entries for their photography competition, The Local Picture.
Close to 100 have already been received from photographers showcasing their home towns — netting more than 3,200 public votes.
All have a chance to win one of four prizes — the top one being £500 in House of Fraser vouchers and a £3,000 donation to a local charity.
To view some of the entries, visit the website at www.romans.co.uk/the localpicture where you can also enter before the deadline of Friday, May 29.
“The popularity of this competition has been astounding,” said Chris Moorhouse, sales manager at the Henley branch in Hart Street. “We’re pleased to see such a fantastic selection of photos, from wild deer roaming in Windsor Great Park and bluebells in Greys Court to boats on the River Thames and Henley’s vibrant town centre. The Local Picture is highlighting just how many wonderful things there are to showcase in this area and how proud everyone is of their home town.”
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and over, whether you’re a professional or an amateur photographer — but you can only enter once, so make sure it’s your best picture.
Three winners will be chosen by judges, including a professional photographer, and one by the public, so even if you don’t enter you can vote for your favourite.
Photographs must be taken within an area Romans estate and letting agencies operate in. These include Reading, Henley and Maidenhead.
