Post office move plan

NETTLEBED’S post office could open for an extra 66 hours a week if plans to relocate

NETTLEBED’S post office could open for an extra 66 hours a week if plans to relocate it go ahead.

Post Office Ltd is looking to move the branch from the church hall in High Street to a counter at the nearby BP petrol station in Port Hill.

Services would be available from 6am until 10pm from Monday to Sunday, more than double the current opening hours.

The company has launched a public consultation and says any move would be with the branch postmaster’s agreement.

Regional manager Will Russell said: “We are confident that this new service will meet the needs of the Nettlebed community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of the largest investment programme in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closures.”

The consultation closes on August 27. Send feedback to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, Post Office Ltd, call 0845 722 3344, email comments@postofffice.co.uk or visit postofficeviews.co.uk quoting reference 161939.
