THE Miller of Mansfield in Goring has won its fourth accolade since re-opening under new management.

THE Miller of Mansfield in Goring has won its fourth accolade since re-opening under new management.

It has been named restaurant of the year 2016 in the readers? category of the Good Food Guide.

The business was nominated by customers and was then visited by an inspector.

Owners Nick and Mary Galer, from Streatley, learned last week that they had won.

Mrs Galer said: ?We were absolutely elated at the news as it will be a real boost for us.

?We?re proud and honoured to have won such a prestigious award.

?It?s a reflection of the hard work every member of our team has put into making us a success.?

The hotel and restaurant, a former 18th century coaching inn, was previously owned by Enterprise Inns and was facing closure as the kitchen was deemed a health hazard. The Galers spent £75,000 on refurbishing the premises before re-opening the business just over a year ago.

It came third in the River Thames Guide?s best Thames local awards in November and was named pub of the season for winter 2014 by the Campaign for Real Ale.

It was also awarded two AA rosettes for its food and accommodation.

The Miller of Mansfield will feature in next year?s Good Food Guide, which is published by Waitrose.
