A PARISH councillor for Wargrave has appeared on a television programme documenting the building of his new farm.

Andrew Cardy, 47, and his family were filmed for part of the BBC1 series The House That £100k Built as they designed and built a free range egg farm in Twyford.

The programme showed the family choosing the design for Riversway Farm with help from experts Piers Taylor and Keiron Long.

Councilor Cardy, who lives with his wife Claire and children Tallulah, 11, and Edward, three, sold his share in the Hare Hatch garden centre in Bath Road to set up the farm.

He already has thousands of hens and 12 reindeers on the site, which he uses for events and school visits.
