Talking property with Simmons & Sons

AS the 113th annual Henley Show takes place tomorrow (Saturday 12) at the Henley Showground on the Marlow Road between Hambleden and Fawley, we will have a marquee there as normal.

We would like to invite everyone and anyone to come along and meet the team and discuss your property requirements, or ask any questions you may have relating to the current market and/or property in general.

The show has been going since the end of the 19th century, when it was the fashion for landowners and their tenants to create their own agricultural societies.

Thus in 1891 the Henley Show was born and has been held every year since, barring two world wars and an outbreak of foot and mouth in 1952.

The idea was initiated by a Mr Richard Ovey of Badgemore and he was aided and encouraged in his efforts by Sir William Anker Simmons — a direct descendant of the founding member of Simmons & Sons, formed in 1802.

Today the firm undertakes the sale and letting of a wide range of residential property — from cottages to country houses, farms and estates, rural land practice and commercial sales and lettings. We also undertake valuations on land and property.

The show is an opportunity to see many diverse traditional events, from horse shows to ferret racing, equipment displays or to take advantage of the many offers from retailers exhibiting at the event.

Simmons & Sons’ marquee is at stand B3 — we hope to see you there.
