Makeover for village local

A PUB in Peppard has been refurbished.

A PUB in Peppard has been refurbished.

The Red Lion was taken over by Philip Collings, 71 and his daughter Hannah, 32, in March.

They have added disabled access and updated the garden of the Brakspear pub by repainting the play equipment and Wendy house.

They have also repainted the outside of the building.

The pair will continue to host pub quizzes every other week and hope to hold live music events.

They also plan to turn the barn at the back of the pub into a function room, which should be finished by  November.

Chef Craig Mee, who used to work at the Rose and Crown in New Street, Henley, has added more gluten-free and vegan options to the pub menu.

Miss Collings said: "Everyone has been tremendously positive with their feedback on the changes.

"Everyone is really grateful to have their pub."
