Insurance firm party

HENLEY insurance company Towergate marked its 53rd anniversary with an international wine challenge.

HENLEY insurance company Towergate marked its 53rd anniversary with an international wine challenge.

The event was held at the River and Rowing Museum and attended by clients, friends and associates.

It was run by Jack Scott, chairman of wine merchants Jascots.

The occasion also marked the relaunch of the Henley office following the company’s recent refinancing deal and the move of its Uxbridge office team to the Henley premises. There are now about 50 staff in the Duke Street offices.

Mark Evans, the Henley managing director, said: “We were too busy a few years ago to remember our 50th birthday so decided to mark the occasion now.

“It was a fun evening with some beautiful wines and lovely catering from the Quince Tree enjoyed by our clients and friends.

“Unfortunately, the event also proved how little I really knew about wine!”

Towergate has also operated as MPW and Arbuthnot over the past half century.
