A PUB has been recognised for the quality of its vegan food.

The Flowing Spring, off the A4155 in Playhatch, was named in the top 10 pubs in the country with the best selection of high-quality vegan dishes by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The campaign group singled out the pub?s dishes, including mushroom and leek stroganoff, the spicy hippy burger, which is made with chickpeas, squash and crunchy sunflower seeds, and a range of vegan ice creams.

Landlord Nick Willson said the pub had offered vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free meals for several years.

He added: ?We?re pleased to be recognised. All the food is home-made.?
