HUNDREDS of people attended a market celebrating the work of artisans and producers from the Henley area.
The Love Local market at Henley town hall featured beauty products, arts and crafts, scented candles, food and Christmas cards.
Tea and cakes were provided by Charlotte Cavanagh, of Henley pop-up shop Time for Tea.
The market was started by Lynne Lambourne, from Peppard, and Sarah Kirk, from Kidmore End, four years ago. Mrs Lambourne said: “We set it up to support local artists and small businesses because they don’t have a presence in the high street.
“We’re offering something a bit different from the normal high street shops.
“The idea is to bring people to the town and when they come here they visit the town centre, so it’s win-win for Henley.”
Mrs Kirk added: “It’s about bringing together local talents and being able to provide a platform for them to showcase their products. There’s a real demand for something different.”
Another market will be held at the Henley Over-60s Club in the Greys Road car park on March 13 as part of the Henley House and Garden Show. If you are interested in having a stall, email firstname.lastname@example.org
