A MILLINER from Henley attended an event hosted by Chancellor George Osborne to mark Small Business Saturday.
Louise Walton was one of 100 small business owners to be invited to the Treasury after her husband, Craig, filled in an application form detailing the history of her business.
She has had a shop in Wallingford for 10 years and opened a sister shop in Market Place, Henley, in March.
There were 2,000 applications in total and Mrs Walton was one of only two business people from Oxfordshire to be invited.
The Chancellor made a speech and then met some of the business people there.
Mrs Walton said: ?He gave a talk about small businesses and how they need our support to keep going.
?It is important that small business owners have the opportunity to share ideas with others. It gives them an opportunity to see how other businesses use social media to promote themselves.
?We have always traded with Henley people very well and since we opened a shop here in March Henley has been very supportive and it hasn?t affected the trade we do at our shop in Wallingford at all.?
Small Business Saturday, a not-for-profit organisation, campaigns on behalf of independent businesses.
