Women queue for Italian style at pop-up shop

ITALIAN fashion is proving popular in Benson thanks to a monthly pop-up shop.

ITALIAN fashion is proving popular in Benson thanks to a monthly pop-up shop.

Lindsey Harrington opens Bells and Whistles on the first Saturday of every month at furniture and homeware store Revival in High Street, where she works. Mrs Harrington, who lives in Brook Street, said: “I went to see a friend in Florence, who was in the garment industry and she introduced me to an Italian wholesaler.

“I was already selling gifts and home accessories and thought this could be an additional line. I do use a British wholesaler as well. I have many regular customers and some of them also hold events in their homes. A lot are waiting for me to open up at 10am on that Saturday every month.

“We get customers from all over the place — from Henley, Caversham, Wallingford and Didcot.

“We get all sorts of ladies coming in and ladies like to shop! They’re all ages, from 20 to 60.” Mrs Harrington changes her range regularly and is currently selling tunic-style tops.

“Every month I’ve got new stock and it’s one size fits all, which means the clothes are all very versatile,” she said. “It’s all Italian and very reasonably priced.”
