Romans reshuffles and eyes new business

THE Romans Group, which has its local branch in Hart Street, Henley, has had a few internal promotions.

Michael Cook is the new lettings managing director, replacing Peter Fuller, who is now the director of mergers and acquisitions.

Michael has spent the past two years as lettings assistant managing director and was a fundamental part of the group’s success in its largest period of growth, which included 11 acquisitions and two new branch openings.

Peter Fuller said: “Since Michael joined Romans over 10 years ago he’s been a key part of our accomplishments, from managing one of our most profitable branches through the last recession to managing the growth of Romans Direct — Romans’ internal customer service team — from a start-up department to one that is 25-strong and generates 25 per cent of the group’s residential sales and lettings instructions.”

Michael’s promotion has enabled Peter to focus on the group’s continued expansion plan.

It is a natural move for a man who started his career in 1983 as a 17-year-old office junior at a Wokingham-based agency — passing on the baton to the 16-year-old Dale Norton, who later founded Romans in 1987.

Peter said: “We decided to separate the two roles this year in the interests of the business, staff and customers, and in particular to drive even further organic growth.

“In fact we are actively looking to acquire sales and lettings businesses — from dynamic agencies with multiple branches to those with small lettings portfolios.

“To discuss an acquisition in confidence I can be contacted directly at pfuller@romans.co.uk.”
