HENLEY Royal Regatta has been shortlisted for an award for its live coverage of last year’s event.
The production and broadcast of the regatta has made the shortlist in the cutting edge sport award category of the BT Sport Industry Awards.
It was the first time the annual five-day event had been televised live since 1968.
There were 10 cameras along the 2,112m course which covered more than 250 races via the regatta’s YouTube channel with finals day available via the red button and the BBC Sport website.
Sir Steve Redgrave, chairman of the regatta’s committee of management, said: “We are delighted to have made the shortlist. It is testament to the fantastic job done by the regatta broadcast team, Sunset + Vine and SP Films.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on April 28.
