IF you often take the road to Marlow (A4155), you’ll have noticed the ongoing development at the old Hare and Hounds pub, just on the edge of town.
Four new homes have been created here (one a conversion of the original pub), and they are all now officially ready to be bought. One has already been snapped up, so you may want to get a move on if you’re interested.
To make an appointment, call Savills on (01491) 843001. Also available through Andrew Milsom. Prices start at £875,000 for a three-bedroom house.
IF you spotted Standard Property’s feature on Millgate’s gorgeous Hamilton Place development in semi-rural Checkendon last week, you may find it interesting to note that another developer, Spitfire, is doing something similar on the edge of Henley (just at the end of Harpsden Road, where it becomes Harpsden Way).
Like Hamilton Place, Rotherfield Garth will consist of five-bedroom Arts & Crafts-style houses. Judging by early photos and by looking at similar developments from Spitfire, these will be more lavish in taste than the Checkendon houses. (Compare styles at www.millgatehomes.co.uk and www.spitfirepg.co.uk to see for yourselves.)
The Hamilton Place development has eight remaining five-bedroom houses for sale, with prices from £1.995m to £2.5m, c3800 to 4500 sq ft. The Rotherfield Garth development is set to have three, five-bedroom houses, with prices thought to start from £2.8m.
