Treatment plant plan

WORK may be carried out to improve a water treatment plant in Wargrave.

WORK may be carried out to improve a water treatment plant in Wargrave.

Thames Water has applied for planning permission to install a new chlorine tank, aeration chamber, kiosks and piping at the Sheeplands water treatment works on the southern edge of the village.

It also wants a headwall, which is part of a new run-to-waste pipe leading to the River Loddon.

In a planning statement, the company says: “The Sheeplands water treatment works is a strategically important site for Thames Water as it is the sole supplier of potable water to a dedicated water supply zone.

“The improvement works proposed will build upon recent plant improvements and will be collectively used to enhance the security of supply from the works.”
