HOMES in Wargrave were left without electricity after overhead lines in the area went down.

The village, as well as nearby Twyford and Ruscombe, was hit by the power cut at about 9am on Monday, which affected more than 1,500 properties in the area. The supply was rerouted an hour later and after repairs power was restored to all homes at about 5.30pm.

Southern Electric apologised for the disruption.
