PAUL DANIELS has revealed that he and Debbie McGee turned down the chance to appear in Celebrity Big Brother.
The magician and his wife, who live in Willow Lane, Wargrave, were tipped to take part in the show, which started on Monday, but pulled out because two of McGees relatives are unwell.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Daniels said he was approached by producers of the Channel 5 show and offered a lot of money to take part.
He said: They came round and discussed the possibility of Debbie and I becoming the first couple to go into the house. Im not bothered either way, a job is a job and its showbiz.
Its always about the money and Big Brother offered a lot of money. That would have paid for all our new flood defences and been very useful. Then things started to go wrong in Debbies family and those that follow us will know we have a nephew who is sick and Debbies dad isnt very well either.
It was a good job we didnt go in as I think the stress on Debbie would have been too much.
Daniels said he had decided not to reveal the reasons behind the couples decision until the series had started.
