Great Fire drama to be aired

A DRAMA about the Great Fire of London that was filmed in Henley is to be shown on ITV later this month.

The Great Fire, a four-part series starring Charles Dance, Andrew Buchan, Jack Huston and Daniel Mays, was shot at Highlands Farm, off Greys Road, from March to June.

The Henley Standard was given access to the set and filmed a behind-the-scenes report. This includes footage of the cast in action and an interview with ITN political editor Tom Bradbury, who wrote the story.

The drama centres on Thomas Farriner, played by Broadchurch actor Buchan, who owned the bakery on Pudding Lane where the fire started late in 1666.

Huston plays Charles II, Dance stars as his royal emissary Lord Denton and Mays plays diarist Samuel Pepys, a confidante of the king. Rose Leslie, best known for her roles in Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones, appears as a struggling single mother.
