HE might be used to walking the red carpet, but film star Jeremy Irons was met with a more low-key reception in Henley.
The 64-year-old was at the Regal Picturehouse in Boroma Way on Thursday last week to launch his latest effort,Trashed, a documentary about the global waste industry.
Irons, who lives in Watlington with his actress wife Sinead Cusack, was joined by the film’s director Candida Brady and about 40 fans.
His willingness to greet his public did not extend to the press, however, as he declined my invitation to discuss the film.
Since he was busy talking about rubbish, you would have thought he could spare two minutes for a throwaway comment.
