Celebrate Chilterns

A NEW booklet about the “celebrities of the Chilterns” has been published.

A NEW booklet about the “celebrities of the Chilterns” has been published.

The subjects of Famous People of the Chilterns include author Agatha Christie, Sixties pop icon Dusty Springfield, who is buried in Henley, and motor car magnate William Morris, who lived at Nuffield Place.

The booklet tells how Oscar Wilde wrote An Ideal Husband in his Goring cottage, war poet Wilfred Owen worked with the poor near Sonning Common and Three Men in a Boat author Jerome K Jerome lived near Ewelme.
