Bell, I’d jump at more

GRAHAM BELL says he hopes The Jump will return to TV screens.

GRAHAM BELL says he hopes The Jump will return to TV screens.

The former Great Britain skier, who lives in New Street, Henley, was a coach on the second series of the Channel 4 reality show, which finished on Monday.

Bell, who also presents the BBC’s Ski Sunday, hopes the show will have broadened the appeal of winter sports.

He said, “For anyone who works in winter sports a programme like The Jump is absolutely fantastic.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think the cast we had were really up for it as well. We didn’t really have anyone who bottled it. Spreading the jumping throughout the show gave the viewer a bit more excitement.

“I think the viewing figures were good and hopefully it’s a format that will stick and the show will be recommissioned for the next few years.”

Reality TV star Joey Essex was crowned this year’s winner in Innsbruck, Austria.

Bell felt that former England rugby player Mike Tindall should have won, saying, “If he hadn’t had that massive crash on the K40 then he would have.”
