A total of 150 women gathered for an extravaganza of shopping, lunch and, most importantly, the chance to learn more about and fund-raise for the Chiltern Centre in Henley. The sun shone on the stunning converted barns at Lillibrooke Manor as the guests gathered to browse the beautiful stalls and enjoy a pre-lunch coffee and slice of home-made cake. Sophia Trinder, deputy manager of the centre, gave an insight into the vital work of the charity during a powerful and moving interview with celebrity auctioneer Jonty Hearnden. This was followed by a delicious lunch, shopping, a raffle and an auction with a diverse range of items. The event made more than £10,000 for the centre, which provides children and young people with disabilities expert care in a home-from-home environment. Harriert Barcella, fund-raiser for the Chiltern Centre, said: “This amazing day could not have happened without the incredible input of the ladies lunch committee and we were privileged to have sponsorship from KJ Smith solicitors. Support like this makes an enormous difference to the success of our events and we are very grateful. We were also lucky enough to have a team of volunteers from Moulsford School who were never without a smile.”
