A TOTAL of £1,200 was raised by Henley Town Football Club with a cruise on the Thames.

A TOTAL of £1,200 was raised by Henley Town Football Club with a cruise on the Thames.

Sixty-five guests, including players, officials and their families, enjoyed the four-hour trip on the New Orleans on Saturday evening. Hobbs of Henley donated free use of its boat. Guests enjoyed a two-course meal, provided by Time for Tea, followed by a disco.

The money was raised from ticket sales and a raffle.

Club chairman Kim Chapman said: “It went very well. The food was good, the boat was good and Hobbs’ staff were excellent. Thank you to everyone who came. Like any sporting club, we need that little bit of extra money and this will go towards our expansion of the club.”

He thanked club sponsor Chris Hodges, who was a guest, and Jonathan Hobbs, managing director of the boat hire company.
