ABOUT 60 members of the choir raised £399 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust with a performance at St Mary’s Church in Henley.
The show featured contemporary hits such as Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now, Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand and Erasure’s A Little Respect. Choir leader Lucy Hewes said: “It was a great success and members had a brilliant time.”
The choir will restart rehearsals at Valley Road Primary School on Thursdays (8pm to 9.30pm) from September 22.
Meanwhile, the Caversham and Tilehurst choir performed at Reading Minster and raised £615.89 for Make-a-Wish, which grants wishes for children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Rock Choir is the UK’s largest contemporary choir, with more than 23,000 members.
There are no auditions and no requirements to read music or have any previous singing experience and rehearsals are fun and friendly.
